Planning Department Now Accepting 2023 Community Development Block Grant Proposals
The Elk County Planning Department on behalf of the Elk County Board of Commissioners is now accepting proposals for the 2023 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Funding is received through the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) and requires that at least 70% of the allocation be used to benefit Section 8 low/moderate Income (LMI) persons. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PA Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) CV – FY 2020
Notice is hereby given by the County of Elk that it will hold a Public Hearing on March 30, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Elk County Courthouse Annex Building, 300 Center Street, Ridgway, PA 15853 in Conference Room #1. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss and receive comment on modifications to Elk County’s Community Block Grant Entitlement Program (CDBG) for FY 2020 – CV.
The proposed program modifications are:
• Remove Guardian Angel Shoe Voucher Program
• Remove Guardian Angel PPE and Supplies Program
• Reallocate funds to the Christian Food Bank
There will be no displacement with the proposed project. All projects benefit HUD identified Limited Clientele and low to low-moderate income persons. Job Description:
The Office of the Chief Clerk is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Commissioners’ Office and executing the tasks and directives passed down from the Commissioners. The Chief Clerk works with all county departments, particularly in the areas of personnel and finance. A student would work directly with the Chief Clerk and office staff in carrying out routine office functions, especially as it relates to records retrieval, organizing, processing, and storage. A highly motivated student would have the option of taking on additional roles such as organizing and sitting in on meetings, conducting statistical analyses, and analyzing current and potential county policies.

- Scanning of selected files, organizing boxes for storage

Job Description:
The Elk County Tax Assessment Office is responsible for identifying and assessing the value of all properties in Elk County using fair and equitable standards. Property files reflect the most current owners of record, their mailing addresses and updated information on their property cards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in digitizing property record card information into a Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) System
- Learn our filing system to be able to retrieve and replace property folders with all proper documents
- Update files, photos, property cards, and other paperwork
- Executes daily computer entries
- Individual must possess excellent written and verbal skills as they may work directly with the public
- Performs all other duties as assigned by authorized personnel
